Gianluigi Maria GHIRINGHELLI, was bornin Turin and started studying singing with M° Roberto Goitre and "Piccoli Cantori RAI" in Torino. In 1982 he joined the Corale Universitaria under the direction of M°G. Acciai and later of M° D. Tabbia with whom he started studying and making a through study of Renaissance Sacred and Secular music interpretative practice. He has studied as countertenor at Milan's Scuola Civica Musicale where he specialized with Cristina Miatello and Claudio Cavina. He has sung with J. Savall, A.Curtis, S.Vartolo, P. Da Col, S.Balestracci, F.Biondi, L.Picotti, D.Tabbia, P.Busca, M.Longhini, B.Dickey, R. Ischer, C.Chiavazza, O. Dantone. He performs in Italy and abroad and has sung as solo in many first modern performances of Baroque and Madrigal operas and in Sacred Music Programmes in th emost important European festivals: Festival of Chaise Dieu, Le Puj, Festival Van Vlanderen in Anversa, Onde Muziek Utrecht, Musica Barocca in Salonicco, Festival of Montreux, Festival de Musica Espanola de Madrid, Festival Internacional de Musica de Galicia, Festival Internacional de Musica y Danza de Granada, Europaische Kirchenmusik in Swabischgmund, Festival del Teatro Acadèmico de Gil Vincente in Coimbra, Festival de Mùsica Sacra de Tenerife, Festival de Musique Ancienne de Rebeauville, Festival de Musique et Renaissance in Paris Ecouen. In Italia at Festival Malatestiano in Rimini, Settembre Musica, Unione Musicale, and Tempus Paschale in Torino, Musica and Poesia in S. Maurizio, and Società del Quartetto di Milano, Ravenna Festival, Il Canto delle Pietre, Sagra Musicale Umbra, Feste Musicali del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Amici della Musica di Firenze, Festival Lodoviciano di Viadana, Concerti Sala Greppi di Bergamo. In 1999 he performed in several concerts in Bienne (Svizzera) for the Werkstatt für Alte Musik organized by Schola Cantorum of Basilea, and has sung in Israel and Palestine with Cappella Ducale Venetia. In 2000 he went on a tour with Goran Bregovic in Italy. In 2003 he was awarded the Diapason D’or de la Musique e Disco dell’Anno for the CD "De Passione" with the Ensamble Odhecaton. In 2004 he recorde the sound track for a film project together with Turin University and Museo del Cinema. He works with many radio stations and tvs in Europe and with the most important European record companies. |
